Welcome to Foundation
The intent in EYFS is to develop self-motivated, happy, engaged, enthusiastic, independent and curious learners who have positive relationships. We want our children to be confident, accepting and tolerant of others, resilient, caring and have self-belief. Through our various learning topics we promote positive well-being, encourage our children to make progress in their learning and in doing so, become knowledgeable about the world around them.
In EYFS we implement the curriculum through child led topics and adult directed tasks to encourage all children to develop holistically. We do this
through lots of ‘revise and revisit’ and talking about prior learning, as well as the children learning through play experiences. Our children are encouraged and supported to develop their social, emotional and communication skills. Positive relationships are fundamental to every aspect of our Early Years practice.
EYFS New Parent Information
Here is some key information about learning in EYFS and how you can support your child at home.
Understanding The World
We really enjoy investigating lots of different things in our outdoor area and in the classroom. The children independently explore the world around us by selecting their own resources and experimenting to discover what happens. We love experimenting with materials and using our investigation area to learn about our world.
Remembrance Day
We learned about Remembrance Day and what the symbol of the poppy stands for. The children supported The Royal British Legion by purchasing poppies and other items. They enjoyed the activities they completed around this.
Phonics
Please see the following links on YouTube to show you the rhymes to help your child develop their letter formation for each phoneme.
